Omni Hotels Helps Guests Stick With the Plan With Introduction of New Ideal Living Program

Health-Focused Amenities Include Healthy Menu, In-Room Fitness Kit And Upgraded Fitness Facilities

IRVING, Texas, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hectic flights, long meetings and eating on the run can all make staying committed to a healthy routine difficult while on the road. To come to the aid of travelers, Omni Hotels, a luxury hotel chain, today announced the launch of the Ideal Living program, which features the Ideal Nourishment healthy menu, the ``Get Fit Kit'' in-room exercise concept and upgraded in-hotel health clubs.

The Ideal Nourishment menu is the cornerstone of the Ideal Living program, a brand-wide initiative to address the wellness needs of guests, who often request health-focused options while traveling. Unlike other healthy menus that offer only low-calorie choices, the Ideal Nourishment selections are designed to appeal to a variety of dietary needs. The menu includes entrees in several categories for guests to select from, including heart-healthy, high-protein/low-carbohydrate, low-sodium and vegetarian, as well as sugar-free desserts. For example, guests interested in a heart-healthy meal can dine on cardamon-encrusted Atlantic salmon with red apple and fennel slaw, and vegetable nage.

As part of the Ideal Living program, the company also introduced the ``Get Fit Kit,'' which is an in-room exercise kit that contains a set of dumbbells, stretch cords and a floor mat in a health-club quality duffel bag, which guests can check out from the front desk. This amenity allows travelers to work out in the comfort and privacy of their own room at their leisure.

``While continually looking for ways to meet the needs of our guests, Omni Hotels discovered that helping consumers maintain a healthy lifestyle was an important part of creating an ideal experience for travelers, especially individuals that may spend several nights a month on the road,'' said Jim Caldwell, president of Omni Hotels. ``Ideal Living provides guests with a wide variety of amenities to ensure that traveling does not keep them from attaining their health-related goals.''

The Ideal Living program is part of Omni Hotels' ``Ideal World'' campaign, which offers guests ``An Ideal World. If Only For a Night.'' In anticipation of this health-focused initiative, Omni Hotels invested $1 million to upgrade all of the company's in-hotel health club facilities. In addition to state-of-the-art exercise equipment, every fitness facility offers a variety of amenities, including filtered or bottled water, fresh fruit, magazines and newspapers, television and a music sound system. Guests also can find an indoor or outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna at most Omni Hotels locations.

Omni Hotels, based near Dallas in Irving, Texas, offers luxury accommodations at 40 hotels and resorts located throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Each property in the Omni Hotels portfolio provides guests with exceptional four-diamond hospitality, personalized service and exquisite decor, creating a distinctive experience at each location. Ranked the ``highest in guest satisfaction among upscale hotel chains'' by J.D. Power and Associates, Omni Hotels offers unsurpassed meeting facilities and a wide range of guest services and amenities, including wine tastings, gourmet dining, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, tours of local attractions, and specialized programs. Through an aggressive expansion strategy, Omni Hotels is steadily entering new markets around the world. Guests can locate hotels, book accommodations or find out more about Omni Hotels by calling 1-800-THE-OMNI or accessing the company's Web site at www.omnihotels.com.
